Frances Costelloe x Fired Earth
Our latest collaboration with renowned British artist Frances Costelloe showcases her signature illustrations beautifully hand-painted on this limited-edition freestanding bath.
For over 40 years, we’ve been passionate about celebrating creativity through colour, pattern, and craftsmanship. This collaboration brings together everything we love: art, design, and timeless craftsmanship. Frances has taken our elegant Florence bath and transformed it into a work of art, painting it by hand with a beautiful leaf-to-leaf bearded iris design. Using a palette of 12 Fired Earth paint colours, she’s created something that feels both classic and fresh — a real statement piece for any bathroom.
The inspiration for the design came from Frances’s recent journey into garden design, combined with her long-standing love for artisanal craftsmanship. The bearded iris motif is her own fictional hybrid of two varieties — iris germanica ‘Nightfall’ and iris ‘Victoria Falls’ — chosen for their rich purples and blues that sit perfectly within the Fired Earth palette.
It all started with pages of sketchbook ideas. Frances explored everything from William Morris prints to Islamic design and even took cues from Van Gogh’s iconic florals. The finished design is a freehand pattern that’s been cleverly adapted into a repeating motif using stencils and careful planning to work perfectly with the bath’s curves and contours.
As for the colours — they’re a celebration of some of our favourites. The soft, serene Blue Ashes forms the base, with accents of Taos House burnt orange, Weld Yellow, Duck Egg Blue, Carragheen purple, and lush greens like Wild Olive and Selva. It’s a vibrant, joyful mix designed to elevate your bathroom into a beautiful, restful space.

I love how their paints are so rich in pigment, and creating something long-lasting, something that resists the throwaway culture, really matters to me. I can picture the bath surrounded by summer wildflowers in a garden or placed in an elegant Georgian bathroom with pink marble and soft blue walls — either would be magical.”
