At Fired Earth, we are fully committed to recycling and reusing packaging from all our activities. Our website provides clear instructions and creative ideas to help our customers do the same.

Packaging that's kinder to our environment

Where possible our packaging is recycled and recyclable, and we are continuously working to further reduce our use of non-recycled packaging without compromising on the protection of our products.

Eco-conscious Packaging

For all our shipments we only use the following types of packaging:

Loose Fill Filling packaging
We use a white wheat-based product that is eco-friendly and dissolves in water.

Did you know?
You can mix into flower beds or pots to help nourish plants.

Green polystyrene 
As this material is not recyclable you can return it to one of our stores, where we will reuse it.

Did you know?
It makes a great alternative to stones at the bottom of pot plants to improve drainage.

Cardboard & shredded cardboard
All our cardboard comes from sustainable forests and contains 30% recycled content. It is fully recyclable and can be disposed of in your household recycling.

Foam edge protectors
These are not recyclable and should be placed in household waste.

Did you know?
They can be reused to protect the edges of picture frames, mirrors, or other fragile items.

Packaging that contains 30% recycled materials

Bubble wrap or jiffy bags
Made from 30% recycled plastic, these materials are unfortunately not recyclable and should be disposed of in household waste.

Did you know?
Bubble wrap is a great stress reliever and is also ideal for wrapping parcels and presents.

Shrink wrap
Our shrink wrap contains 30% recycled content, but it is not recyclable and should be placed in household waste.

Wooden pallets
All our pallets are made from recycled wood. However, they cannot be recycled with normal household waste but some council tips may take them.

Did you know?
Wooden pallets can be upcycled into outdoor furniture or even repurposed for garden bars.

Pallet banding
Made from 30% recycled materials, our pallet banding is not recyclable and should not be disposed of with normal household waste.

Tiles
Tiles cannot be recycled or disposed of with normal household waste. Please check with your local council for guidance on proper disposal.

Did you know?
Broken tiles can be used as hardcore for building projects, while smaller tiles are often repurposed as drinks coasters or mats.
