We’re thrilled to add new additions to our Bert & May porcelain tile collection.
Fired Earth has a long and rich history of working with designers and design-led brands. For decades we’ve been collaborating with some of the most interesting names in interiors to translate considered visions into products that work perfectly for today’s home.
We choose our partners carefully, only working with those that share our values of longevity, great design, quality and craftsmanship.
Bert & May – who are known for their encaustic tiles, rich in natural pigments and with a beautiful chalky finish – had often been asked to recreate their designs in porcelain but were concerned something would be lost in the translation. That’s where we came in…
Form and function go hand in hand for us and never more so than in the Bert & May porcelain collection. We’ve taken the enchanting designs of some of their most popular encaustic tiles and have translated them into a porcelain range that is at once gorgeous and stunningly practical.
Porcelain requires no sealing or special treatment, so is easy to maintain and clean, plus it comes in at a great price point, so is brilliant when you’re looking to tile larger areas.
We work with artisans and makers across Europe and the wider world, so were able to find just the right producer to press these very special tiles. Ensuring the milky colours and imperfect textures of the encaustic tiles were fully expressed in the new porcelain collection was all-important to the teams from both Fired Earth and Bert & May and we’re thrilled to say we’ve done just that.
The range is made up of tiles that can be used inside and outdoors, in bathrooms, hallways and other high-traffic areas and – as they’re easy to clean and maintain – they’re a joy to live with too.
This beautiful vintage design has been reimagined in soft, delicate tones from the Bert & May palette and brought right up to date in practical porcelain.
The Santona tile’s traditional Spanish design replicates a burst of sunshine and its timeless look is set to make it a staple.
Create graphic stripes or zig zag patterns, perfect for a stunning floor tile, or feature wall.
Our Alalpardo tile may appear simple but it is anything but. Endless tessellations allow you to create a truly unique space.
Elegant and playful, the gorgeous star pattern of the Luna tile looks fantastic wherever it’s used.
Inspired by an intricate reclaimed design and carefully recreated with contemporary colourways.
Blue and white is a classic combination that always looks fresh.
A Delft tiled splashback in a plain, white room works wonderfully as a quick style update or why not mix and match our new Copenhagen penny rounds in contrasting colours for a statement-making look?
Add a splash of brass in the form of taps and you have a pulled-together look.
Another great style update is green. It’s having a huge moment right now as we are in love with all things natural. Pairing green and cream paint offers a soft modern look and adding in some tiles from our Botanical range, with their nature-inspired designs, will add a fresh, spring-like feel.
The Santona tile comes in signature Bert & May colours – green, pink, blue, grey and black – and it joins other favourites, including Alalpardo, Pradena, Majadas, Luna, Bolonia and Vigo, as well as a selection of plains to make up this exciting porcelain collection.
